Inspiration Celebration Friday, July 7: Musicians, Humanitarians and Athletes Speak to Ali’s Legacy

Friday, July 7, Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and program begins at 7:30 p.m.
Part of the “I Am Ali” Festival, Inspiration Celebration is held during the Run for the Roses girls basketball tournament at the Kentucky Exposition Center, with more than 600 teams in attendance. The event provides coaches, players and their families the opportunity to be inspired by the struggles, determination and triumphs of athletes, musicians and humanitarians. The evening honors Ali’s life and legacy, and shares his six core principles: confidence, conviction, dedication, respect, giving and spirituality. The public is also invited.
Motivational speakers include:
- Laila Ali, retired and undefeated professional boxer, Muhammad Ali’s daughter
- Dawne Gee, long-time news anchor for WAVE-TV
- IMAJ, country singer, songwriter and humanitarian
- Sydney Phillips, sued and won the right to play on boys basketball team
- Linkin’ Bridge, local group working to inspire unity through music
- Jenna Dean, local group with the #HipHopFunkSoul
- Carly Johnson, local jazz musician, recently played Waterfront Wednesday
Open to the public. FREE for 18 years and under; $15 for 19 years and older.
Tickets available at Ticketmaster or the Kentucky Exposition Center Ticket Office. Parking is $8 per vehicle, $20 for a bus.
