Simmental cattle hail from Swiss origins along the Simme River and are considered one of the oldest breeds in the cattle world. For five days, July 25th through the 30th, the Simmentals get their time in the spotlight at the Simmental Breeder’s Sweepstakes. The competition begins with junior competitors exhibiting their finest heifers and cow/calf combinations. The show continues with more showcases of purebred bulls, females, and an embryo auction. It’s sure to be an exciting weekend to round out summer before farmers get ready for fall!
