Ky Expo Center Home to Newest Hometown Heroes Banner

The Kentucky Exposition Center is now home to the newest addition of the Greater Louisville Pride Foundation’s Hometown Heroes banner collection. My Morning Jacket, the GRAMMY-nominated rock band, was officially honored with a banner during a dedication ceremony on April 24. The banner, displaying “My Morning Jacket’s Louisville,” now graces the north-facing wall of the Kentucky Exposition Center’s Maintenance Building and is prominently visible to travelers on I-65.

“My Morning Jacket has carried Louisville’s name to stages around the world, and now their Hometown Heroes banner proudly greets millions of guests at the Kentucky Exposition Center. It’s a fitting tribute to local talent and a reminder that Kentucky is home to worldclass artistry,” said David S. Beck, President & CEO of Kentucky Venues.

The dedication ceremony also included words from Greater Louisville Pride Foundation President and Founding Member Mike Sheehy, earX-tacy Founder and Radio Host John Timmons, Danny Wimmer Presents Senior Vice President Doris Simms, and Louisville Metro Councilman Dan Seum Jr, with tv and radio personality Terry Meiners as emcee.

The banner is sponsored by the Danny Wimmer Foundation and Metro Council.
